Production company name: Empower
Reason: The reason I have chosen the name Empower for my magazine is because the magazine is from the current affairs genre where I will include stories that feature people talking about issues in which they are facing in current society and how they are trying to empower people to make a difference.
Reason behind logo: I have designed this logo for my production company which will feature both on the magazine and on the website. I have used the colours black and white as these are the colours in which I intend to have run throughout the products in which I create. The colours black and white also provide an element of professionalism as they are often associated with professional situations such as newspaper traditionally being these colours. I have decided to use a black background with white font to allow for the writing to stand out and appear eye-catching. White has connotations of purity and innocence so by having the word 'Empower' in white this allows for the purity of the colour to match with the strength of the word which overall creates a very positive connotation- reflecting the magazine and the readers. I have placed the word 'Empower' in-between two lines to create a box effect with symbolises the reflection of societies expectations- how we are stuck in a box unable to express ourselves due to the repression of society. This thought is then challenged as the magazine slogan 'The magazine of change' is included on the page. The slogan reflects the magazine's purpose of increasing people's awareness of society and current issues and how we need to challenge society.
