My audience
Audience

The criteria for the audience is that they are 16-25 years old, socially conscious and middle-upper class.
This is an example of the audience of my magazine.
Socially conscious- This image represents a socially conscious young adult - which is what the brief specifies for my intended audience. This group isn't afraid to speak their mind and believes in changing the world for the good. They are especially passionate about issues in which are still effecting their generation such as stigma surrounding sexuality, racial issues and gender inequality.
Age- My audience are between 16-25 years old with most of the audience being 18 years old. 18 years old is the dominant audience age as they have just finished education and are on their way to discovering what they want their life to be like as adults, so they enjoy reading magazines surrounding current affairs as they are learning about the world.
Spare time- In their spare time, this audience enjoy being out in nature such as visiting beaches, forests and parks. They also enjoy shopping and are very fashionable but only purchase goods from businesses which have been shown to be ethically and environmentally friendly such as LUSH. They also enjoy watching new films and music and are particularly interested in the indie/rock music genre. They are interested in both politics and celebrities so have a wide awareness of different public figures. The audience are also interested in photography and enjoy seeing different photographs, especially images that challenge society.
Education- The audience are very well educated with a mixture of the audience being in sixth form, university or in training to gain a highly skilled job. They work hard for the grades that they gain and most are from public schools. At school, the majority of the audience studied subjects such as media, art, business, politics and history.
Class- The audience are from a middle to upper class demographic which means that they have been able to afford luxuries in life but they are socially aware that other demographics have not been able to afford these. They have had this higher class upbringing from their parents who have worked hard to establish themselves in the ABC1 occupation group and the audience aspires to achieve this too.
My magazine issues are going to attract this target audience as I am going to represent issues involving identity which this audience will be interested in as they are socially conscious. The two front covers of the magazine in which I will create will represent different social groups protesting for their identity to be accepted by society. The issues represented about identity will be able to be related to by the audience especially those who are 18 year old (who are the majority of the audience) as they will have just finished education and will have questions surrounding their identity and who they want to be as adults. The models in which I will have feature on the covers will also be of a similar age to this 16-25 year old demographic so the audience can identify with the models and to the magazine, therefore enjoying the content. I won't have the image show direct protesting such as the image above but the images will be challenging ideologies in a sophisticated and modern way to create a depth which this well educated- middle to upper market demographic should be able to understand. I will have my magazine feature interests of this audience such as having an image taken within nature. I will also ensure that the images used are interesting so that the photography-loving audience enjoy them.
