Analysis 

• The use of having the background as a green outside space along with the model wearing white allows for connotations of purity to be created. 
• The use of a unsaturated colour palette allows for the page to look sophisticated and mature.
• The use of the masthead being in colour whilst all other typography is in white or black allows for it to stand out and seem important. The straight, clear font of the brand name allows for the brand to appear very sophisticated and as if it has been established for a long period of time.
• The use of having the model positioned in the centre of the page allows for her to appear the most important feature of this issue of the magazine- the reader is drawn to her straight away. 
• The model has a light use of makeup, and her hair looks very natural which allows for the reader to think that she is very pure and her beauty is effortless when in reality she will have had makeup artists and hairdressers help her on this image. 
• The dress appears old fashioned with the use of ruffled sleeves and lace making it look traditional and has connotations of what women were expected to wear in the past. The dress then subverts these thoughts as it has a modern twist as the model is showing a lot of flesh. There is a contrast of regarded and an open element to the model maybe signifying that she is going to open up about her life in this magazine. 
• The facial expression of the model allows the photo to appear very staged as she is posing for the photo which is contrasting to the natural connotations of the image with the natural setting and her natural hair.
• The typography used for the cover lines appears very classy and has elements of a feminine style writing which is contrasting to the bold style brand name.
• The main cover line 'All about Ana' is positioned parallel to the masthead which allows the reader to quickly see the key information about this magazine issue and establish what it is about. The font is in black which allows it to be shown as separate from the other stories that are in the issue which appear in white. 
• There is no barcode on the front cover which allows for the cover to appear very professional, creating the effect that you are buying a professional image rather than a magazine. 
• The Dateline shows that this was March 2020's edition as the magazine publishes one issue a month. This allows the reader to know when these stories are from and the time period the current affairs are from. 
• The image is a long shot which allows the reader to be able to view the model easily and be able to see her outfit as well as see the background clearly. This allows for an older style effect to be created as in the past, many long shot photos were taken with the model located in nature.

My thoughts and what I'll take 

• I really like the natural connotations of this image as I like how the model looks 'effortless yet beautiful' along with the image being shot outside. 
• I like the typography and the little colour used as it appears very sophisticated. 
• I like how the model is the only image used as all your attention can be given to that image and it looks simplistic yet very effective.  
• I like how the brand of the magazine is shown boldly on the page as it makes it appear very important.
